Gene Smith, 74, of Dyersburg, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013 at his residence.

He was the retired owner of Smith's T.V. Service and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ. He was a Mason and was a licensed commercial pilot.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Dyersburg Funeral Home. Burial will be held at a later date.

Survivors include his two daughters, Beth Simmons and husband, Brent, of Dyersburg and Edie Shaver and husband, Jerry, of Dayton; a son, Eugene Smith and wife, Tina, of Newbern; a daughter-in-law, Leigh Ann Smith of Newbern; a sister, Fran Ellis and husband, Steve, of Florida; a brother, Jerry D. Smith and wife, Donna, of Dyersburg; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Barry Smith; and his parents, Rev. W.E. and Earline Potts Smith.
