Gene Harris, 92, of Dyersburg, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at his residence.

He was the owner of Petroleum Equipment and Maintenance, a member of Main Street Church of Christ in Newbern and a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Mr. Norman Fultz officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Harris of Dyersburg; three daughters, Gloria Beegle and husband, Billy, and Pam Canada and husband, Tommy, all of Dyersburg and Wendy Murray and husband, John, of Newbern; five grandchildren, Lacey Wright, John Thomas Canada, Jordan Murray, Lillie Murray and Harris Murray; and seven great-grandchildren, Jesse Mueller, Atleigh Canada, Noah Wright, Olivia Wright, Maksim Wright, Hannah Wright and Brantley Gay.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.T. and Donie Montgomery Harris; and by eight brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be John Murray, Tommy Canada, Billy Beegle, Sterlin Wright, Shannon Walker, Terry Harris and Desmond Joy.
