Gene Jerry Burris' Obituary
Gene Jerry Burris of Dyersburg, age 75, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired salesman for Colonial Bread Company. He also worked for Hart's Bread Company for fifteen years, and was a U. S. Army veteran. Mr. Burris was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and served as President and coach of the Dyersburg Babe Ruth Baseball League.
Services will be Sunday, September 5, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Lynn King. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors Saturday evening 5-8 at the church.
He is survived by his wife, June Burris; four daughters, Debbie Sewell (Tommy), Leigh Ann Burris and special friend, Cayce Abbott, and Cindy Ratliff (Tommy) all of Dyersburg, and Sherry Blalock (Chris) of West Lafayette, IN; one brother, Richard Burris of Carpentersville, IL, and seven grandchildren, Jeremy Burris, Brooke Sewell, Landon Sewell, Tracy Ratliff, Alex Blalock, Ben Blalock, and Jon Blalock.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Emma Burris.
Pallbearers will be Holice Jeffries, Danny Jeffries, Skipper Jeffries, Barry Cooley, Anthony Hopper, and Wade Jeffries.
