G.D. "Geed" Armstrong, 94, of Dyersburg, died Friday, December 30, 2011 at the Highlands of Dyersburg.
He was a retired employee of Colonial Rubber, where he worked for 27 years and a member of McCullough's Chapel Baptist Church.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Williams officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his two daughters, Peggy Armstrong Ashley and Brenda Armstrong Hollingsworth, both of Dyersburg; three sons, G.P. Armstrong of Tiptonville, Bill Armstrong and Rodney Armstrong, both of Dyersburg; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Fern Elizabeth Anderson Armstrong; his parents, Payton and Linnie Daniels Armstrong; four sisters, Lillie Anderson, Rosie Lee Brimm, Dolly Armstrong and Myrtle McCann; four brothers, Robert Goodloe Armstrong, Chester Armstrong, Sam Armstrong and Partee Armstrong; and a great-granddaughter, Amber Poe.
Pallbearers will be Albert Ward, Eric Larson, Keith Ward, Don Grizzle, Jim Poe, Chad Hollingsworth and Scott Hollingsworth. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Jones and Joey Kimbrell.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
