Gary Edwin Rester, 49, of Dyersburg, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
He was a business owner of Vigilant Power Solutions and a member of Holy Hills Baptist Church. Gary served in the U.S. Navy for 10 years and was deployed to the Persian Gulf twice during that time.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Frazier officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
The Rester Family will receive visitors from 2-3 p.m. Sunday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Rester; four sons, Seth Rester, Austin Rester and wife, Kim, Sean Rester and Seth Appleton; a daughter, Cara Hayes and husband, Brandon; his mother, Fran Rester; a brother, Keith Rester and wife, Christina; and six grandchildren, Grace Rester, Haylie Rester, Hunter Rester, Hayden Rester, Ryker Hayes and Reese Adalynn Hayes.
He was preceded in death by his father, Reginald Rester.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Hayes, Dan Johnson, Ken Murphy, Kenneth Lyles, Dea Lyles and Jason Frazier.
