Gary Cutler, 82, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018 at his residence.

He was born on July 20, 1935, in Bogota, TN, to the late Malcolm Odelle Cutler and the late Willie Lorene Blackley Bottoms. He was a member and deacon at Hoffman Heights Church of Christ in Aurora, CO and also received his Masters Degree from Colorado State in Education. Before moving to Dyersburg, Gary taught electronics and math and Memphis State Technical Institute. Gary was a retired Associate Professor of Business and taught Business Cources for Dyersburg State Community College, where he worked for 20 years. Mr. Gary was also a member and elder of West Dyersburg Church of Christ. After 20 years of serving his country, he retired as a Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force, he was a technical writer and electronics instructor.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2018 at West Dyersburg Church of Christ with Bro. Rick Crawford, Bro. Glen Burse and Bro. Jim Chamblee officiating. Entombment will be at Fairview Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Dyersburg Funeral Home and from 10-11 a.m. Monday, February 5, 2018 at the church.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Jane Cutler of Dyersburg; a son, Gary Wayne Cutler and wife, Susan, of Springfield; two grandchildren, Barbara Jane Elder and husband, Justin, of Dyersburg and Matthew Cutler and wife, Gail, of Woodbury; and three great-grandchildren, Dylan Cutler, Gavin Cutler and Jarred Jones.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Cutler; and a great-granddaughter, Nala Elder.

Members of the United States Air Force Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Purvis Lay, Larry Fesmire, Tony Dement, Tom Eison, Justin Elder, Jarred Jones and Jeff Ham.
