Freddie Joyce Whitson, 77, of Tiptonville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Tennova Healthcare Dyersburg Regional.

She was born on June 9, 1940 in Hickman, KY, to the late Ovid Perkins and the late Maggie Carrington Perkins. Mrs. Whitson was a homemaker.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 3, 2017 in the Tiptonville Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Clayton Mahan officiating. Burial will be in Lake Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Survivors include her two daughters, Lucinda Whitson and Tabitha Whitson, both of Tiptonville; two sons, Mickey Dewayne Whitson of Rossville and William Whitson of Halls; a sister, Brenda Poiner of Tiptonville; two brothers, Ovid Perkins, Jr. and Johnny Perkins, both of Tiptonville; five grandchildren, Chris Tubbs, Bradley Tubbs, Courtney Whitson, William Whitson and Whitney Whitson; and five great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Whitson; a daughter, Debra Tubbs; and a grandchild, Shannon Whitson.
