Fred Hanks, Sr., 87, of Dyersburg, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2014 at The Highlands of Dyersburg.

He was a retired construction worker. He was a U.S. Army and Navy Veteran.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dyer County Memorial Gardens with Mr. Tom Butler officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 9-10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his three daughters, Vanessa Burkhead, Connie Thedford and Margaret Milligan, all of Dyersburg; three sons, Mark Hanks and Ed Hanks, both of Linden and Fred Hanks, Jr. of Dyersburg; a sister, Betty Garner of Michigan; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Hanks; his parents, Calvin and Esther Cooper Hanks; three brothers; two sisters; one grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Mason Benthal, Blake Haynes, Tim Haynes, Ricky Clark, Mark Hanks, Ed Hanks, Christopher Milligan, Derrick Hanks and Stanley Eaton.
