Obituary

Franklin Delano Cochran, 80, of Nashville, TN, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017.

He was born October 20, 1937 in Tiptonville, TN to the late Clarence and Essie Cochran.  A 1962 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law, he served as a City Judge, a City and County Attorney, a TN State Representative from 1962-1970 and as a Public Service Commissioner for the western half of Tennessee from 1976-1994.  He was a Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite and a Shriner.

Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Hines and Clarence, Jr., and sisters Margie Davis Corkran and Mary Ellen Grubb.  Survived by wife Patsy Whitfield Cochran of Nashville, TN, children Kent (Amanda) Cochran of Hendersonville, TN and Craig (Keri) Cochran of Franklin, TN and four grandchildren, Griffin, Carson, Zoe Belle and Sara.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 4:00 pm- 8:00 pm at Forest Hills Baptist Church (Chapel) 2101 Old Hickory Blvd., Nashville, TN. Visitation prior to the funeral will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Dyersburg Funeral Home Tiptonville Chapel, with the funeral at 2 pm. Burial will be in Lake Memorial Gardens.

Honorary pallbearers will be the caregivers at the Belvedere Commons Memory Care Facility of Franklin, TN.
