Frances Burks Strickland's Obituary
Frances Burks Strickland, 88, of Dyersburg, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
She was a retired bookkeeper for Brown Shoe Company in Trenton and a member of First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of Alma Potts Sunday School Class.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Dr. David Russell officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include her son, David Strickland and wife, Anne, of Dyersburg; and two grandchildren, Justin Strickland of Huntsville, AL and Tory Strickland of Memphis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R.B. "Bob" Strickland; her parents, Sam Jones Burks, Sr. and Lena Carrell Burks; and her brother, Sam Jones Burks, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Justin Strickland, Mike Boals, Randy Ward, Scott Knight, Joe Hayden and Robert Hendrix. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Strickland, Thomas Everett Boals, Murry Moore, Robert Hart, Jerry Roberts and Dr. Phillip Cook.
