Frances Laverne Leake, 74, of Minnick, TN, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Tennova Healthcare Jackson Regional.

She was born on November 28, 1943, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late Chess Hood and the late Katie Lancaster Hood. She was a retired supervisor for Keneric Corporation. On October 10, 1959, Frances married George Leake. She was a member of Minnick Bible Church and loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Minnick Bible Church with the Rev. Johnny Chessor and Bro. Ricky Stover officiating. Burial will be in Fremont Cemetery near Union City. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 12-3 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the church.

Survivors include her husband, George Leake of Minnick; a son, George Leake, II and wife, Shiloh, of Troy; two sisters, Peggy Smyth of Obion and Kay Faulkner of Trimble; a brother, Ray Hood of Elizabethtown, KY; and three grandchildren, Kail Leake, Anna Frances Leake and Chess Leake.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Cook and Catherine Chessor; and a brother, Robert Hood.

Pallbearers will be David Faulkner, Shane Faulkner, Jerry Smyth, Kenny Chessor, Glenn Stover and Ricky Pugh.
