Flossie R. Hawkins, 91, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at her residence.

Flossie was born on June 25, 1929, in Unionville, TN, to the late, Alcie A. Denton and Beulah Mae Worley Denton Turner. She was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. Flossie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2021 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Phipps officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband, Sam Roger Hawkins; her daughter, Anita Tearisa Hawkins Hensley; her son, Roger Anthony Hawkins (Darlene); a sister, Barbara Denton Bevis; three grandchildren, Roger Clinton "R.C." Hensley (Penny), Lori Leigh Ann Hensley Pietsch-Council (Tyler) and Heather Nicole Hawkins Fowlkes (Clint); four great-grandchildren, Aiden Xavier Hensley, Tyler Clinton Fowlkes, Joshua Alexander Pietsch and Tucker Hall Fowlkes; and a sister-in-law, Frances Denton Carter.

In addition to her parents, Flossie was preceded in death by her adopted parents, Henry and Flossie Cowell Scott; her step-father, Marvin Turner; three brothers, Dovie Lee Denton, William T. Denton and her twin, Ossie Alberta Denton Bizzle; her brother-in-law, Doc Bevis; and two half-sisters, Mattie Sue Turner and Doris Faye Turner.

Pallbearers will be R.C. Hensley, Aiden Hensley, Clint Fowlkes, Tyler Fowlkes, Mark Davis and Chris Sentell. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Pietsch and Tucker Fowlkes.
