Evie Sue Scates' Obituary
Mrs. Evie Sue Younger Scates of Dyersburg, formerly of Mt. Juliet, TN. passed away Friday, May 16, 2008 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Center.
Mrs. Evie Scates was a retired teacher for the State of Tennessee. She was a member of Silver Springs Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet. She also was a member of the XYZ group at First Baptist Church in Dyersburg, the Retired Teacher's Association and the Tennessee Education Association.
Mrs. Scates is preceded in death by her husband, Dan Wharton Scates.
She is survived by a daughter; Carol House of Dyersburg and two sons; Dan Y. Scates of North Carolina and David W. Scates of Humboldt, Tn.
She is also survived by five Grandchildren and nine Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.
Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 19, 2008 with burial in Highland Cemetary in Greenfield, Tn.
