Estella Roberson, 83, of Hornbeak, died Friday, March 4, 2011 at Baptist Hospital in Union City.

Born on December 25, 1927, she was a homemaker and a member of Wynnburg Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for close to 50 years.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Wynnburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Chip Davis and the Rev. Charles Southerland officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 12-3 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Survivors include her husband, Buddy Roberson of Hornbeak, whom she married on February 2, 1947; three sons, David Roberson and wife, Donna, of Hornbeak, Randy Roberson and wife, Daphne, and Terry Roberson and wife, Mary Nell, all of Union City; a brother, Golden Mathis of Troy; eleven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Levie Smithson Mathis; two sisters, Allie Mathis and Mai Gantlett; and two brothers, Gaither Mathis and William Lewis Mathis.

Pallbearers will be Dave Roberson, Randy Shane Roberson, Josh Roberson, Anthony Roberson, Matthew Tippit and Colton Quick. Honorary pallbearers will be George Hall and Deacons of Wynnburg Baptist Church.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Wynnburg Baptist Church.
