December 4, 1944 – January 10, 2024
Estel Almon White, 79, of Lenox, TN, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at the West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.
Estel was born December 4, 1944 in Ayers, TN at his grandparents' home on the Mississippi River. He was born to the late James Luther White and Mary Neva Essary. Estel was a member of Lenox Baptist Church and worked at Olberg Manufacturing. He was a farmer and retired in 2010. He loved horses and watching westerns. Estel loved working with his hands and was the ultimate handy man. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 5-8 p.m. at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Celebration of life service will be on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Trevor Sewell officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Glenda Childress White; a son, Jeffrey Laine White (Rhonda) of Lenox, TN; a daughter, Heather LaShea White Pitts (Matt) of Finley, TN; four grandchildren, Christopher Laine White (Hailey), Collin Seth White (April), Jaxon Elijah Pitts and Mattie Katherine Pitts; three great-grandchildren, John Houston White, Hadley Laine White and Oakland Ford White; one brother, Tom White (Tina) of Finley, TN; and three sisters, Jimmie Shelly of Savannah, TN, Sherri Ballinger (Jamie) of Dyersburg, TN and Angela White Cole of Bryan, TX.
Estel was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ora Moody Hendrix, Walter Thomas Essary, Elijah Augustus White and Minnie Northcutt White; his parents, James Luther White and Mary Neva Essary; and one brother, Aaron White.
Pallbearers will be Matt Pitts, Christopher White, Collin White, Jaxon Pitts, Charles Moore, Jr. and Brad Studard. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Grantham, Burless Davis, Ray Davis, Jamie Ballinger, Tommy White, Brandon Ballinger and Earl Wayne Evans.
