Mr. Ernest Emanual Blalock, age 98, of Dyersburg, passed away on Monday, Feb. 15, 2021 at Harborview Nursing Center.  He was born August 30, 1922 in Dyersburg to the late Lloyd & Minnie Blalock.  He was a long-time painter by trade, working with other family members and he proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II.  He always enjoyed working outdoors in his yard and was a faithful church member.

He is survived by his sons, Ernest "Moe" Blalock & wife Dianne and Terry Blalock, his daughter, Janice Blalock Yates, his brother, Lloyd Blalock, Jr, his four grandchildren, Brandon Blalock, Tisha Blalock Burke, Mary Ruth Yates & Donald Newsom as well as three great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of many years, Ruth Riley Blalock, his sisters, Lavenia Overby & Wilma Cannon, and his brothers, R.L., Roy & James Blalock.

Private family funeral services will be held with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery.  The family ask that memorials be made to the organization of the donor's choice in place of flowers.
