Obituary

Mr. Ernest "Moe" Blalock, of Dyersburg, passed away December 4, 2025 at his home.  Moe was born January 28, 1943 to the late Ernest and Ruth Riley Blalock.  He attended schools in Dyersburg, playing football, baseball and basketball, before moving to Memphis and later graduating from Kingsbury High School in 1961.  Moe returned to Dyersburg and worked in several fields, as a driver for Boatright's Cleaners, a salesman for local shoe stores and a teller for First Citizens National Bank.  Moe then began his career with Manners' Men's Shop in downtown Dyersburg.  After twenty-five years in sales, he purchased the business and operated it locations, both downtown and later in The Shops at The Villages, until his retirement.  He was an avid sports fan and lover of golf, as a member of the West Tennessee Senior Golf League. Dancing was a life-long favorite activity for Moe and he was sure to be on the dance floor at any event.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Dyersburg.  Many in the local community will remember Moe for his outgoing nature, his wit and humor and his love of people.

Moe is survived by his wife and love of his life, Dianne Mays Blalock, a son Brandon Blalock and husband Robert Cuzzone, a daughter Tisha Blalock Burke and husband, J.B, his grandson Teagan Joseph Burke as well as his brother Terry Blalock, sister Janice Yates and several nieces and nephews.  He was loved and known by many names, including Uncle Moe, Mr. Moe, Papa-Moe-Moe, Ernie and Ernest by friends and family.

Friends and family are encouraged to celebrate Moe's memory whenever they dress well for a special occasion, take to the dance floor or enjoy a favorite sporting event.  Memorials should be directed to a charity of the donor's choosing.
