Emma Jean Ashley Norris, 85, of Tiptonville, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at The Bridge at Ridgely.

She was a retired cook at Margaret Newton Elementary School and a member of Tiptonville Church of Christ.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Tiptonville City Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Tiptonville Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include her two daughters, Dianne Norris Donner and husband, Richard, of Dyersburg and Janice Norris McCain and husband, Larry, of Tiptonville; two sons, Ashley E. Norris of New Iberia, LA and George E. Norris of Tiptonville; a brother, George Ashley of Memphis; eight grandchildren, Cheraton Dykes, Mary Pritchett, Jennifer Roberson, John McCain, Bren Norris, Mandy Gregory, Elizabeth Norris and Amy Lynn Rioux; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Bitner Norris; and her parents, Alton and Anna Betty Tucker Ashley.

Pallbearers will be Shane Gregory, Dale Dykes, Heath Pritchett, Kent Roberson, Calvin Mills and Jerry Rodriquez.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Community Cancer Society, 1979 St. John Avenue, Dyersburg, TN 38024.
