Emily Hopper Bivens' Obituary
Emily Hopper Bivens, 56, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
She was a teacher for 32 years in first and second grade for the Dyersburg City School System, and a member of McCulloughs Chapel Baptist Church and the Tennessee Education Association.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Stan Young and the Rev. Don Williams officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Billy W. Bivens of Dyersburg; a son, Andy Bivens of Dyersburg; her parents, Montague and Nannie Jane Hopper of Trenton; and a brother, Scott Hopper of Milan.
Pallbearers will be Randy Chapman, Bobby Williamson, Rickey Bearrd, Hal Rector, Drennon Adams and Michael Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Oscar Bruce, Leroy Neal, Earl Willoughby, Zac Chapman, Jim Lumley, Earl Hook, John Lowrance, Harold Gooch, Phil Bivens and deacons of McCulloughs Chapel Baptist Church.
The family requests that any memorials be directed to McCulloughs Chapel Baptist Church or Community Cancer Fund, P.O. Box 1002, Dyersburg, TN 38025-1002.
