Ellen W. Kaplan, 65, of Dyersburg, died Monday, July 14, 2008 at her residence.

She was an employee of First Citizens National Bank, a member of First United Methodist Church, a volunteer worker for Relay for Life and Dogwood Dash, a member of Dyersburg Cotillion Club, a Girl Scout and Brownie Scout leader, and worked with the Dyer County Fair, MYF and church youth choir.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Chandler and the Rev. Terry Presson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include two daughters, Lesli Kaplan Bell and husband, Gwen, of Murfreesboro, and Libby King and husband, Larry, of Dyersburg; her father, Steve Wright and wife, Emily, of Dyersburg; a brother, Andy Wright and wife, Deborah, of Dyersburg; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews.

Pallbearers will be Wayde Jackson, Jerry Cantrell, Jeff Agee, Will Bell, Dr. Bobby Cook and George Robertson. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of First Citizens National Bank and Mama K's other kids.

The family requests that any memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society or First United Methodist Church Youth Fund.
