Eleanor "Miss Tom" Brasfield, 95, of Friendship, died Sunday, May 25, 2008 at Jackson General Hospital.
She was a homemaker, a member of Friendship Baptist Church and an avid cook, quilter and gardener.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Melton and the Rev. Tommy Warner officiating. Burial will be in Bell Vernon Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The widow of Finis Brasfield, survivors include two daughters, Linda Sue Nash and husband, Buck, and Mattie Peay Brasfield, all of Friendship; two sons, Taylor Brasfield and Frank Brasfield and wife, Linda Ann, all of Friendship; a sister, Montrey Sue Gifford of Memphis; a stepsister, Anna Bell Richardson of Dyersburg; five grandchildren, Marla Griffin and husband, Danny, of Lakeland, Shawnee Brasfield and wife, Lisa and Chad Nash and wife, Jill, all of Friendship, Heather Via of Alamo and Montrey Moore and husband, Taylor, of Dyersburg; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Shawnee Brasfield, Chad Nash, Taylor Moore, Derick Burks, Orey Brasfield and Danny Griffin. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Rogers and deacons of Friendship Baptist Church.
The family requests that any memorials be directed to the organization of the donor's choice.
