Elbert Lee "Bluebird" Samples, 82, of Dyersburg, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

He was a retired employee with Oldberg Manufacturing.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Fairview Cemetery with Mr. Larry Fowlkes officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 2-2:45 p.m. Thursday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Samples of Dyersburg; five nieces, Brenda Short of Chicago, Margie Larson of Arizona, Mary Jean Rennie of Washington, Patricia Holdren of Illinois and Linda Criswell of Dyer; and four nephews, Arnold Shelton of Mississippi, Charles Samples of Humboldt, Kenneth Samples and Michael, both of Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, B.J. and Nora Jane Harper Samples.

Dyersburg Funeral Home Staff will serve as pallbearers.
