E.L. Quinn, 86, of Newbern, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Tennessee State Veteran's Home in Humboldt.

He was born on June 26, 1930 in Tennessee to the late Roy and Willie Hutchison Quinn. He was a retired duck call maker and gunsmith. E.L. was a U.S. Army Veteran serving his Country during the Korean War, where he received the Purple Heart Medal. He was also an avid duck hunter and fisherman.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Julian Huey officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

The Quinn Family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Dimple Quinn of Newbern; a daughter, Arlene Cantrell and husband, Jim, of Newbern; a son, Roy Quinn and wife, Alicia, of Finley; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be James Cantrell, Justin Cantrell, Manuel Quinn, Shawn Quinn, Miguel Herrera and Hunter Cantrell. Honorary pallbearer will be David Hollingsworth.
