Obituary

Mrs. Edith Louise Owsley Spicer, age 75, of Dyersburg, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Harborview Nursing Care in Dyersburg.

She was born February 13, 1944 in Friendship, Tennessee to James and Louise Cobb Owsley. She worked as a substitute teacher at Holice Powell School and in the Dyer County School System. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking and reading and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Dyersburg.

She is survived by her mother, Louise Cobb Owsley, two sons, John Spicer (Katrina) and James Spicer (Misty), three sisters, Ann White (Dennis) of Lockport, Il, Jimmie Gail Reitcheck (Larry) and Johnnie Carrol (Nolan, Jr.) of Dyersburg, two grandchildren, Amber Hemby (Jacob) and Katlin Spicer, four step-grandchildren, Shaun, Sawyer and Seth McAfee and April Fountain and four great-grandchildren, Elijah and Kinsley Hemby, Kyleigh Graves and Grayson Fountain.  She is also survived by her caregiver Diana Carrier and her beloved lil' dog, Trixie.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Owsley, her husband, Harold Spicer and two sons, Jason and William Spicer.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 29, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at Sorrell's Chapel Cemetery in Dyersburg, TN, conducted by Pastor Tony Elam.

Pallbearers will be John & James Spicer, Michael Carroll, Scott Buchanan, Jacob Hemby and Tim Bennett.
