Eddie Farris Ray Jr., 80, was born in Covington, Tennessee, on April 15 ^th , 1938. He peacefully passed away on January 12 ^th , 2019. Eddie grew up in Dyersburg, Tennessee, where he graduated from high-school and went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force.

Eddie was a faithful husband to Jean Ray for 42 years until her passing in 2002. He worked and retired from the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller, and later returned to be an Instructor for the FAA for the next generation.

As a talented singer he loved singing and leading in worship service at every opportunity. While faithfully attending church, he was reintroduced to a high school friend, Wanda Heathcott. They immediately hit it off and were married February 28 ^th , 2004. At the time of his passing they were married for 15 wonderful years. They were always found worshipping together at Parr Avenue Church of Christ as well as about everything else in their lives – done together.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie F. Ray Sr. & Marie Richardson Roy.  He leaves behind his beloved wife, Wanda Ray, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, and beloved children – Tamra Lujean Ray, Joan Marie Ray Green, Eddie F. Ray III (Diane), William Richardson Ray (Julie), Sherry Childress Heiser (David), Susan Heathcott Krech (Greg), along with many adored grandchildren, great grandchildren and countless friends.

Funeral and visitation will take place at the Dyersburg Funeral Home on Monday, January 14 ^th , 2019. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with funeral starting at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
