Dwight Earl Smothers, 63, of Trenton, TN, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at his residence.

Dwight was born on April 28, 1959, in Chicago, IL, to Margaret Mathina Smothers and the late Earl E. Smothers. He was a retired plant manager for ERMCO/ECI and was a member of Wynnburg Baptist Church. Dwight was an accomplished guitar player and singer and was an avid golfer.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Wynnburg Baptist Church with Rev. James Gunter officiating. Cremation services are under the direction of Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila Smothers of Trenton, TN; his daughter, Kari Clark and husband, Matt, of Hixon, TN; his mother, Margaret Smothers of Wynnburg, TN; two step-sons, Kenneth Jones of Hornbeak, TN and Brandon Jones of Tiptonville, TN; two sisters, Angela Rivers of Tiptonville, TN and Vickie Cooper and husband, Scott, of Jackson, TN; and a step-grandchild, Hayden Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will be Butch Lamb, Jeff Mathina, Jase Cooper, Austin Rivers, Dalton Rivers, Erick Rivers, Kenny Osbourne and Keith Oatsvall.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Wynnburg Baptist Church, 95 Wynnburg-Bluebank Road, Ridgely, TN 38080.
