Douglas Lee Howell, Sr., 74, of Finley, TN, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

Douglas was born on June 9, 1945, in Chic, TN, to the late Alexander "Pete" and Jessie Margaret "Sis" Ennis Howell. He was a retired lead supervisor with ERMCO and was an avid fisherman, hunter and storyteller.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2020 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie Halliburton officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

The Howell Family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2020 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Joan Howell of Finley, TN; a daughter, Kelly Rynae Howell of Newbern, TN; a son, Douglas Lee Howell, Jr. and wife, Donna, of Dyersburg, TN; four grandchildren, Cassie Gillespie and husband, Jason, Levi Seaton and wife, Ali, Joshua Howell and Alexander Howell; and six great-grandchildren, Bailey Judge, Bentley Seaton, Maisy Copeland, Phoenix Seaton, Aeralyn Gillespie and Iris Gillespie.

In addition to his parents, Douglas was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Howell and Rance Howell; and three sisters, Flossie Weaver, Violet Van Hooser and Nellie Hipps.

Pallbearers will be John Bryan, Chuck Smith, Gary Rodgers, Lance Davison, Jerry Daniels and Jonathan Bryan. Honorary pallbearer will be James McCutcheon.
