Douglas Loyd Fowler Jr., age 84, of Dripping Springs, TX, passed away in the early hours of the morning on April 10th in the comfort of Hospice Austin's Christopher House in Austin, TX, with no pain.

Doug was born in Dyersburg, TN on January 16, 1942 to the late, Douglas Loyd Fowler, Sr. and Maudema Fowler. Doug was straight forward and firm in his beliefs and wants. He always enjoyed laughing and share a good joke with family and friends. He was married to Linda Joan Fowler for 57 years. They lived together in Dripping Springs Texas for over 30 years before her passing. He traveled the world while serving our nation's military honorably in the Air Force for 22 years. Afterwards they traveled the country from coast to coast as a trucking team. Then with their grandchildren and children they would travel in an RV. He enjoyed traveling, eating pie, fishing, and above all spending time with his family.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Fairview Cemetery with Mr. Stephen Sutton officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Family members and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

He is survived by his daughter, Patti Luann Rubenak and husband, William; a son, Douglas Loyd Fowler III and wife, Theresa. His legacy lives on with his 7 grandchildren, David Rubenak (Alex), Linda Walls (Drew), Christina Fowler, Jennifer Fowler, Douglas Loyd Fowler IV (Alisha), Thomas Fowler, and Timothy Fowler. As well as his 7 great grandchildren, Charley Rubenak, Raylan Rubenak, Ryan Bennett, Colton Rubenak, Douglas Loyd Fowler V, Joanne Walls, and David Walls. He also leaves behind his second wife, Peggy.
