Obituary

Doug Williamson, 81, of Dyersburg, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013 at his residence.

He was the retired owner of Williamson Ford Tractor Company. Mr. Williamson started work for Jones Brothers Tractor Company at the age of 16 in the spring of 1947. In 1973, he purchased the company, which came to be known as Williamson Ford Tractor Company. He was a member of West Dyersburg Church of Christ, where he was a Bible teacher for 60 years. He was a member of the Rotary Club, member of Freed Hardeman University Advisory Board and a member of Midsouth Farm Equipment Association Board of Directors.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Carl Mills officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his daughter, Anita Williamson Dudley of Bartlett; a son, Douglas Wayne Williamson and wife, Pam, of Niceville, FL; his wife of 36 years and the mother of his children, Marie Owen Williamson; two step-daughters, Carol Holt Crowder and husband, Mack, and Amy Holt Sullivan and husband, Gene; a brother, Bobby Williamson and wife, Beauton, of Dyersburg; six grandchildren, Carol Beth Shaw Baker, Jarrod Douglas Webb and wife, Heather, Jeremy L. Williamson and wife, Jamie, Benjamin Wayne Williamson and wife, Brandie, Brittany Williamson Christianson and husband, Parker and Peyton Wayne Williamson; five great-grandchildren, Madison Elizabeth Baker, Mason McGarrity Webb, Tanner Williamson, Ethan Christianson and Madyson Jade Via; and his special friends, Bill and Julie Davis of Dyersburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Cora Lewis Williamson; his second wife, Barbara Holt Williamson; twin siblings, James Williamson and Jo Ella Williamson Eudaley and a sister, Mary Williamson Strawn.

Pallbearers will be Jarrod Douglas Webb, Jeremy Williamson, Peyton Wayne Williamson, Benjamin Williamson, Larry Williamson, Jimmy Williamson and Bobby Powell, Jr.

The family requests that memorials be directed to West Dyersburg Church of Christ.
