Dorothy Hammock Turner, 86, of Ridgely, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at The Bridge at Ridgely.
She was a retired supervisor for Heckethorn Manufacturing and member and former Sunday School Teacher at First Baptist Church in Ridgely. She was a former employee of Mar-Lek Manufacturing, member of Ridgely Woman's Club and was a devoted wife, mother and friend to many.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Ridgely Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Henry and Chaplain Terry Lynch officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her niece, Martha "Mossey" Mankins and fiancée, Michael Albert, of Ponca City, OK; her twin sister, Doris Hammock Cooper of Fayetteville, AR; and other loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlie Turner; her daughter, Tina Turner McElyea; her parents, Austin and Pearley Stanphill Hammock; a sister, Ello Wanese Hammock; and three brothers, Efford Wayne Hammock, Wintford Hammock and W.S. "Dub" Hammock.
Pallbearers will be Tony Leake, David Callen, Billy McElyea, Gary Cooper, Dean Holman and Charles Stewart. Honorary pallbearers will be Malcom Chism, James Harold Powell and Michael Albert.
