Dorothy Elsie Sorrell's Obituary
Dorothy Elsie Sorrell, 95, of Dyersburg, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Center.
She was a self-employed seamstress and a member of First Baptist Church in Dyersburg.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Hickman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Sorrell Cooper of Dyersburg; a son, Jerry Lee Sorrell of Idlewild; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Newton Sorrell; a son, Jimmy Sorrell; her parents, Lee and Mary Dunn; and two half-sisters, Billie Joyce Viar and Lou Alice Hampton.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Sorrell, Brad Holbrook, Dana Price, Eric Price, Jim Hampton and Matthew Sorrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Levi Holbrook, Jerry Webb, Wesley Sorrell and Billy Sorrell.
The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
