Dorothy A. Hanks' Obituary
Dorothy A. Hanks, 76, of Dyersburg, died Monday, September 5, 2011 at her residence.
She was a homemaker.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Turner officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Hanks of Dyersburg; three daughters, Vanessa Burkhead, Connie Thedford and Margaret Milligan, all of Dyersburg; three sons, Mark Hanks and Ed Hanks, both of Linden and Fred Hanks, Jr. of Dyersburg; a sister, Becky Gray; a brother, Lanier Chumley; three step-sisters, Barbara Chumley, Dianne Chumley and Alma Jean Chumley; a step-brother, Jerry Chumley; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Margaret Powers Chumley; two sisters; a brother; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Billy Joe Hanks, Bryan Morris, Larry Joe Thedford, Johnny Ray Thedford, Christopher Milligan and Johnny Milligan.
