Doris Helen Rhodes Vaughn, age 89 of Dyersburg, TN,  died Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Paris Health Care Center in Paris, Tennessee. She was born March 25, 1928 in Philippy, TN.

Mrs. Vaughn was married to the late Rudolph Vaughn for 64 years. They had one son, Robert D. Vaughn, who survives.  Mrs. Vaughn was an active member of Southside Baptist Church in Dyersburg, TN where she taught Sunday School for 25 years. She retired from South Central Bell as a telephone operator with 28 years of service.

She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Donna Vaughn; two grandchildren, Ann Claire Bullock (Josh) and Mary Ellen Kelley (Chris);  and four great grandchildren, Lila, Joseph, David, and Caleb Bullock.  She was also preceded in death by her parents Martin and Blanche Rhodes; three sisters, Ruby Capps (David), Lona Burton (Laburn) and Mary "Doll" Lewis (Emmitt); and one brother, Robert Rhodes (Margaret).

Services will be held at Dyersburg Funeral Home,  Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Jere Phillips and the Rev. Joe Naylor officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.  Memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 505 Christie Street, Dyersburg, TN. 38024.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Benthal, Chris Kelley, Josh Bullock, Nelson Richards, Eddie Carter and Chip Payne.
