Donald Lynn Melton, 89, of Dyersburg, died Friday, May 21, 2010 at The Bridge at Ridgely.
He was a retired employee for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Los Angeles, CA. and Dyersburg for 45 years, a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, a former member of the Hess Masonic Lodge, the Dyersburg Moose Lodge, the Dyersburg Jaycee's where he was named Outstanding Young Man of 1953, and a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynn King officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Verness Melton of Dyersburg; two daughters, Priscilla Melton of Dyersburg and Dawna Ferguson and husband, Lee, of Winter Springs, Fla.; two grandchildren, Robert Rushing and Tammy Fernandez, both of Winter Springs, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Laticia Rushing of Orlando, Fla. and Justin Rushing of Winter Springs, Fla.; and a nephew, Chuck Jarred of Dyersburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ike and Meda Alexander Melton.
