Donald Chester Faris, 88, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at his residence.
He was a retired certified public accountant, member of First United Methodist Church and a WWII veteran of U.S. Navy.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Dr. David Russell, Rev. Mike Hickman and Rev. Raymond Boston officiating.
The family will receive visitors from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Merigold Faris of Dyersburg; a daughter, Beth Marie Gephart and husband, David, of Anderson, IN.; two sons, Philip Mason Faris and wife, Cindy, of Indianapolis, IN. and Stephen Faris and wife, Lisa, of Dallas, TX.; a sister, Lois Shively and husband, John, of Tampa, FL.; a brother, Gene Faris and wife, Betty, of Bloomington, IN.; eleven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Davis; a brother, Douglas Faris; and his parents.
The family requests that memorials be directed to First United Methodist Church or to First Baptist Church.
