Obituary

Dickie "Grassie" Tubbs, 82, of Ridgely, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Tubbs was retired from the Highway Department with the State of Tennessee. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy and was a retired Sergeant with the Army-National Guard. He liked fishing and hunting and loved life and his grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Clayton Mahan officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The Tubbs Family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. Sunday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Eliza "Ann" Tubbs of Ridgely; a son, Rickie Tubbs and wife, Janice, of Cash, AR; two step-sons, Charles Newhouse and wife, Lorean, and James Newhouse and wife, Carissa, all of Dyersburg; a step-daughter, Debbie Gooch and husband, Mark, of Roellen; a sister, Jane Tubbs Cherry of Dyersburg; a brother, Tom Tubbs of Spokane, WA; eight grandchildren, Angela Tubbs, Hunter Tubbs, Jon Gooch, Paul Gooch, Jennie Newhouse, Laura Newhouse, Nate Newhouse and Jennifer Newhouse; eleven great-grandchildren; three nephews, J.P. Berkley, Mark Berkley and Fred Cherry; and four nieces, Lana Berkley Wood, Sherri Berkley Teeter, Dana Tubbs and Dawn Tubbs Stone.

He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Tubbs; his parents, Fred and Lottie Lucas Tubbs; and two sisters, Martha Tubbs and Bobbie Tubbs Berkley.

Pallbearers will be Nate Newhouse, Paul Gooch, Jon Gooch, Ed Shier, Mark Gooch and Joe Wood. Honorary pallbearers will be James Newhouse, Charles Newhouse and Fred Cherry.
