Derwood Allen Hayes' Obituary
Derwood Allen Hayes, 86, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Tennova Healthcare Dyersburg Regional.
He was born on February 22, 1932, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late Thomas Allen Hayes and the late Inez Dunn Hayes. Derwood was a retired correctional officer for the State of Tennessee and also retired from Sylvania Corporation. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ. Derwood also served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Zion Cemetery with the Rev. Dale Basham officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Jean Hayes of Dyersburg; a daughter, Barbara Grimberg of Valparaiso, IN; a brother, Clayton Hayes of Dyersburg; a sister, Mickey Parrish and husband, Gerald, of Newbern; and two grandchildren, Michael Grimberg and David Grimberg, both of Valparaiso, IN.
Pallbearers will be Chad Fultz, Tommy Gunn, Fred Edmaiston, Jeff Nicks, Michael Grimberg and David Grimberg.
