Delbert Ogden, 85, passed away on March 12 ^th 2017 at his daughter's home surrounded by loved ones in Merrillville, Indiana.

Delbert was born on August 22 ^nd 1931 in Hickman KY to the late Finis Bowden Ogden and the late Vera Mae (Howard) Ogden.

Delbert married Carrie (Stanley) on March 8 ^th 1952. He worked for American Bridge and retired in 1983. After retirement Delbert and Carrie resided in FL, where they enjoyed fishing and spending time with their son and his family. Delbert  then moved back to TN and was a member and Pastor (2000-2015) of Perfect Faith Tabernacle in Troy, TN. He enjoyed traveling with his wife after retirement, being with his children and grandchildren and serving the Lord. Delbert was a carpenter and loved being with his family.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Ogden; his sisters, Evelyn, Carnice, Alta, and Omega; his brothers, Theodore and Raymond; and his granddaughter, Kimmy.

Delbert is survived by his children, Deborah (Charles) Burke of Merrillville IN, Sandra (Dorris) Rowlett of Buchannan TN; Wayne Ogden of Tequesta FL, John (Patty) Ogden of Homewood IL, Melinda (Larry) Verduzco of Lake Station IN; his siblings, Thelbert (Norma) Ogden of Union City, TN, Winnie Johnson of Newbern TN, Bernice Long of Paris TN; his grandchildren, Jeremy (Laura, fiancé) Ogden of Hobart IN, Jason Agee of Murray KY, Jennifer Abrego of Crown Point, IN, Jeffery (Lauren) Abrego of Merrillville, IN, Derrick (Christin) Ogden of Tequesta FL, Adam Ogden of Tequesta FL, Lauren Ogden of Tequesta FL, Ashley (James) Belinsky of Hobart IN and Nina Whitson of Homewood IL. He also has many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home, 420 Highway 51 Bypass West, Dyersburg, Tennessee 38024. Officiating the ceremony will be Bro. George Moore, Pastor of Perfect Faith Tabernacle (Troy, TN). Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely, TN.

A visitation will be held Friday March 17 ^th 4:30-8 pm at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
