Dee Pounders, 95, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009 at his residence.
He was a retired farmer and a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Westbrook and Bro. John Stacy officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern.
Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Pinkley of Dyersburg; five grandchildren, Sandra Foster of Miston, Phyllis Hanks and Randy Pinkley, both of Millsfield, Nancy Parker of Newbern and Patty Tripp of Dyersburg; seven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite Lucille Pounders; a daughter, Wanda Taylor; his parents, Oscar and Ella Pounders; two sisters, Daisy Pounders and Lela Fultz; and two brothers, Jim Pounders and Frank Pounders.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Asbridge, Tom Butler, Toby Tatum, Gaylon Reagor, Larry Christian and George Hollingsworth. Honorary pallbearers will be W.D. Hilliard and Ralph Palmer.
