Ms. Deborah Jean Sims, 69, of Tiptonville, TN, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at Encompass Health & Rehabilitation in Jackson, TN.

She was born on July 24, 1955 in Chicago, IL to Lavert Sims & Elaine Morong. Deborah worked for many years for the Tennessee Department of Corrections in the commissary of Northwest Correctional in Tiptonville. She loved any time spent with her children, especially her grandchildren  and great-grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed travel to places like California, Ohio and Mexico and was a fan of Harley Davidson Motorcycles.

Deborah is survived by her mother, Elaine Morong; two daughters Susan Dean (Eddie Dale Dean) of Tiptonville, TN and Sabrina Roman (Mario Salgado) of Chicago, IL; a sister, Virginia Montalvo-Mioletti; her step-children, Ralph White, Amanda Haynes, Cindy White and Betty White; and a brother, Ronald Marong. She was loved as "Grandma" by Denisha Marie Allen (Aaron Marquis Allen), Dawn Jada Dean, Robert Donald Stanley and Ryan Joseph Salgado and as "MawMaw" by her great-grandchildren, Aariyanna Marie Allen, Deion Jordan Allen, Kadaji Michelle Allen and Cameron Marquis Allen.

She is preceded in death by her father, her sisters, Nancy Sims & Dawn Marie Marong and her brothers, Gregory Sims & Don Marong.

Funeral services will be held in the Tiptonville Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Bro. Tommy Dean. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Memorial Gardens.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Mario Salgado, Eddie Dean, Robert Stanley, Ralph White, Ryan Salgado and Aaron Allen. Honorary pallbearer will be Rex White, Jr.
