David Wayne Prince, 79, of Newbern, TN, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

David was born on January 27, 1944, in Ridgely, TN, to the late David and Mary Frances Moore Prince. He was a Church of God of Prophecy Pastor for 46 years, serving in Tiptonville, Union City, South Fulton, Clarksville, Camden, Westmoreland, Big Sandy and Lenox. While living in Big Sandy, David was known as the funeral pastor for anyone who did not have a pastor. He loved listening to K-Love and gospel music and had a heart of gold. David loved fishing, working in his shop and mowing and caring for his yard.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2023 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Watson and Bro. Jeremy Robbins officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.

The Prince Family will receive visitors from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Brenda Prince of Newbern, TN; a daughter, Kathy Alexander of Dyersburg, TN; three brothers, Bobby Prince (Tina) of Tiptonville, TN, Jerry Prince (Bobbie Sue) of Ridgely, TN and Mackie Prince of Martin, TN; a sister, Marsha Fisher (Mike) of Jackson, TN; six grandchildren, Candace Klutts (Jonathan), Dana Willard (Bobby Garrigus), Kristan Jackson, Sara Prince, David "D.J." Prince and Faith Hart; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his two sons, David Alan Prince and Gregory Wayne Prince.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Prince, Bobby Prince, Mike Fisher, Edward Morris, Lane Crawford and D.J. Prince. Honorary pallbearer will be Mackie Prince.
