Obituary

David Earl "Gomer" French, 61, of Newbern, died Monday, February 6, 2012 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

He was the owner of French's BBQ in Dresden, member of Southside Baptist Church, member of the Elks Club and an U.S. Air Force Veteran.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Loren Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his daughter, Lisa French of Nashville; his mother, Bessie Mae French of Dyersburg; a sister, Mary Missman and husband, Dan, of Nashville; a brother, Doug French and wife, Kay, of Dyersburg; one nephew; one niece; four great-nephews; three great-nieces; and lots of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, George David French; and two grandchildren, Georgia Allison French and David Maddux French.

Pallbearers will be Ryan French, Dan Missman, Charlie Moore, Bennie Hendren, Ronnie Epperson and Larry Paschal.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the National Kidney Foundation.
