David Gary "Dur Dur" Holmes, 59, of Dyersburg, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Tennova Healthcare Dyersburg Regional.

He was an employee of NSK and was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. Gary will leave a void in our lives that will be felt forever and will never be replaced.

Services will be at 12 noon Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Father Bob Stellini officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The Holmes Family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Saturday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his daughter, Katie Holmes and husband, David McFadden, of Phoenix, AZ; his fiancée, Linda Heathcock Smith; his parents, Henry T. and Shirley Holmes of Dyersburg; three sisters, Kathryn Boals Yarbro and husband, George, of Finley, Melissa Ivy and husband, Tim, of Jackson and Mary Susan Patterson and husband, Tim, of La Vergne; a brother, John G. Holmes of Dyersburg; three grandchildren, Josalyn McFadden, Daylin McFadden and Ashton McFadden; and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and devoted friends.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Trimmy Holmes and Joey Holmes; and his beloved godchild, Phoebe Boals.

Pallbearers will be Tucker Cozort, Kyle Cozort, T.J. Ivy, Thomas Ivy, Matthew Patterson, and Luke Patterson. Honorary pallbearer will be Carter Boals.

The Holmes Family requests that memorials be directed to Holy Angels Catholic Church.
