David Mark Burns, 68, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at his residence.

Born on March 12, 1957, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late James David "Sprig" Burns and Mary Evelyn Carper Burns, David was a dedicated farmer who worked alongside his father for about 20 years. He was a man of many passions, including fishing, trail riding, gardening, and painting. Known for his generosity, he often shared his garden's bounty with others. David was a storyteller at heart, fond of reminiscing about the old days and sharing tales with everyone he met. He was a beloved member of Our Little Country Church and was known for his warm and welcoming nature, never meeting a stranger.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, August 17, 2025 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Royce McGuire officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The family will begin receiving visitors at 2 p.m. until service time.

Survivors include his two sons, Tanner Nash Burns and Tucker Lane Burns, both of Dyersburg, TN; the mother of his children, J.J. Burns of Newbern, TN; two sisters, Evelyn Burns Hopper (Richie) of Monticello, AR and Sheila Welch (Jimmy Joe) of Dyersburg, TN; and his step-mother, Joyce Burns of Dyersburg, TN.

In addition to his parents, Mr. David was preceded in death by a sister, Darlene Burns.

Pallbearers will be Keith Jones, Travis Burns, Vick Burns, Danny Hickerson, Bill Brock, Tim Sullivan, Raymond Cooper and Todd Trowbridge. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Harris, Jimmy Hendren, Brent Welch, Joe Welch, Johnny Hooper, Keaton Stafford, Tucker Humphreys, Chase Sollis, Greg Moore, Jimmy Joe Welch, Michael Dean, Jeff Greene, Ricky Brock, Fisher Trowbridge, Anthony Blalock, Nick Spry, Mark Bryan and John Morris Trowbridge.
