David Brian Abel, 57, of Newbern, TN, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

He was born on July 15, 1962, in Anderson, IN, to the late, Henry and Gloria Shrout Abel. David was an Institutional Investigator with Northwest Correctional Facility Tennessee Department of Corrections. He was graduate from Lake County High School- Class of 1980.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2019 in the Ridgely Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Knowles officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.

The Able Family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2019 at Dyersburg Funeral Home in Ridgely.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Abel of Newbern, TN; a son, Brandon Gooch of Dyersburg, TN; a sister, Sharon Gooch of Tiptonville, TN; and two grandchildren, Cloey Gooch and Layla Gooch.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Gooch, Brandon Gooch, Billy Winchester, Lonnie Vaughn, Easton Lebo, Jason Tittle and Chris Badger.
