Dave Fisher, 67, of Dyersburg, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Dave was the owner and principal broker of Fisher Realty and Auction Company and also an active real estate appraiser. His career in real estate and related fields spanned over 35 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and enjoyed fellowship in the Koinanea Sunday School Class. Dave further involved himself in the area business community as a member of Dyersburg Rotary International. He served as club president for two terms and also received the Paul Harris Fellowship Award. He served on the Dyersburg Board of Realtors, the Dyer County Equalization Board, was an initiated member of the local Masonic Lodge, and was a veteran of the Tennessee National Guard.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church with Dr. David Russell officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 1:30-4 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Carolyn Hendrix Fisher of Dyersburg; a daughter, Carolee Morris and husband, Bubba, of Jackson; a son, David Fisher and wife, Denise, of Dyersburg; a sister, Betty Bagley of Athens; two brothers, Alan Fisher, Jr. of Ripley and W. Bowlyne Fisher of San Antonio, TX; and four granddaughters, Molly Morris, Laura Lee Morris, Anna Fisher and Claire Fisher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alan Moorer and Grace LaRue Lankford Fisher; and a sister, Jane Stephens.
Pallbearers will be Jim Berry, Rodney Walker, Larry White, Wayde Jackson, Dwight Cox and Bubba Hendren.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society, First United Methodist Church in Dyersburg or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
