Obituary

Darryl Lynn McGuire, age 54, of Cloverdale passed away at Regional One Health-Memphis on July 15, 2024. Darryl was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather. Darryl was a joy to all who knew him and never failed to make those around him laugh. He was as selfless as they come and would give the shirt off of his back to anyone at the drop of a hat.

Darryl was a fourth-generation farmer and proud Owner and Operator of McGuire Farms and Flying Service. Those who knew Darryl know he was very seldom still, but when he was you can bet his lap was filled with his grandchildren. He loved nothing more than being a HeeHaw to his grandchildren and an Uncle Bubba to his niece and nephew. Darryl enjoyed making memories in the duck blind with his boys and his friends all winter long.

Darryl is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law — Drake and Keaton McGuire and Dalton and Courtney McGuire, his grandchildren — Fields McGuire (Drake) and Landry McGuire (Dalton), his parents — Ricky and Donna McGuire, his sister and brother-in-law — Sandy and Luke Edmiston, his niece — Hallie Edmiston, and his nephew — Miles Edmiston, and his paternal grandmother — Marjorie McGuire, all of Cloverdale.

Darryl was proceeded in death by his maternal grandparents — Bernie and Dimple Stover, his paternal grandfather — L.M. McGuire, and his wife of 27 years — Paula McGuire. Darryl joined Paula in the arms of Jesus shortly after she was welcomed home.

Services will be officiated by Jeremy Powell at Crosswind Church of Union City on July 20th with visitation beginning at 1pm until the time of service at 4pm. Burial to follow at Zion Cemetery in Obion.

Pallbearers will include Drake McGuire, Dalton McGuire, Miles Edmiston, Luke Edmiston, Thom Hagan, and Adam McGuire. Honorary pallbearers will include Glen Hale, Rusty Grills, Jeff Reasons, Jesse Stover, and Jay Cooley.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family requests donations to be made in memory of Darryl to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the local chapter of The American Red Cross.
