Danny James, 74, of Dyersburg, passed away on August 30, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Danny was born on April 4, 1949, to the late Arthur James and Wilma Sue Anderson James.  He worked as a mechanic for Colonial Rubber, and had also worked at John A Johnston, and Tri-County Equipment in Newbern.  Danny enjoyed camping, riding four wheelers off road, spending time with his family and friends outdoors, and antique cars and trucks.

Danny is survived by his wife, Pat Petty James; one son, Danny Allen James (Tina) of Newbern; one daughter, Martha Geene Pierce (Kenneth) of Dyersburg; one sister, Frances Scott of Dyersburg; six grandchildren: Brayden James, Amber Rogers, Logan Rose, Katherine Woodward, Devin Pierce and Cody Pierce; and ten great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Sammy James; a sister, Debra Crafton; and a great grandson, Braydon Singleteary.

Visitation for Mr. James will be from 11:00 until 12:45 on Friday, September 1, 2023.  A graveside service will be held at 1:00 at Dyer County Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Dr. Pam Phillips-Burk.  Serving Mr. Danny James as pallbearers will be Larry Edwards, Eddie Hicks, Marty Lamb, Nathan Moore, Jeff Dykes, and Mike Cooper.  Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Fultz and Mike Sentell.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Dyer County Cancer Society at P.O. Box 1055, Dyersburg, TN 38025-1055.
