Daniel Glen Tickle, 77, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2018 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born on November 14, 1940, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late Samuel Calvin Tickle and the late Lois Virginia Turner Tickle. Dan was the retired owner of Tickle's Grocery and was a member of Springhill Baptist Church. He was a 1962 graduate of Union University and was also an avid fisherman. Dan was a member of the Dyer County School Board for 26 years and served in the Tennessee National Guard.

Services for Mr. Dan Tickle will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 4, 2018 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. James Branscum and the Rev. Randy Crews officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

The Tickle Family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Betty Holt Tickle of Dyersburg; three daughters, Lisa Maas (Steve) of Cookeville, Ginny McCormack of Alcoa and Nickie Jowers (Kenny) of Newbern; a brother, Sammy David Tickle (Faye) of Dyersburg; and five grandchildren, Erik Maas, Jenna McCormack, Rylee McCormack, Chase Fulcher and Kirsten Jowers.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Calvin Wayne Tickle.

Pallbearers will be John Tickle, Steve Tickle, Tommy Heathcott, Jeff Heathcott, Scotty Stevens, Shane Connelly and C.W. Exum.
