Dallas James Castleman, 69, of Dyersburg, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at his residence.

He was born on December 15, 1947 in Dyer County, TN, to the late Clayton Wright Castleman and the late Agnus Blanche Epley Castleman. Dallas was a farmer and small business owner. He was a member of Three Oaks Baptist Church. Dallas served his country during the Vietnam War as a U.S. Army Sergeant, where he received the Silver Star for Valor in Vietnam Combat, 2 Purple Hearts for wounds he received in action and also the Air Medal for being shot down in a helicopter by enemy fire.

Services for Mr. Castleman will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Phipps officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The Castleman Family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Castleman of Dyersburg; two sons, Shannon Bartley Castleman and wife, Kristen, and Dallas Castleman, Jr. and wife, JoLynn, all of Dyersburg; a step-son, Dr. Charles R. Noplis and wife, Jen, of Louisville, KY; two step-daughters, Chris Eisom and husband, Malcolm, of Dyersburg and Kandace Hunt and husband, Kelly, of Greenville, SC; a sister, Penny Castleman Blair and husband, Brian, of Dyersburg; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David W. Castleman.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Joe Welch, Jerry Pate Hollingsworth, Jason Lineberry, Dent Yarbro, Jeff Jones, Clark Brock, Jimmy Hester and George Hollingsworth.
